Well, I'm back.
I am no longer writing on my other blog, which I will write a closing post eventually, but I am back to the blog-world. It has been a year since we left for Kenya and a year since I felt I had anything of interest for people to read. I still don't think my life is very interesting, but I enjoy writing and my Mom wants me to blog.
First, I want to address my title. "The CONTENTious Woman". For those who don't already know, there are several verses in the Bible that talk about a "contentious woman".
Ex: Proverbs 25:24-- "It is better to live in a corner of the roof, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman."
Proverbs 27:15-- "A constant dripping on a day of steady rain, And a contentious woman are alike;"
Basically, this chick is bitchy, nagging, argumentative, and no one wants to live with or be around her. My husband will jokingly call me a contentious woman when I ask him to do things like "change the baby's diaper", "take out the trash", "transfer the laundry" ect. Pretty much any time he doesn't want to do something he says I'm being a contentious woman. He really is joking, I promise. But, in all seriousness, I do NOT want to be this woman. It's a huge struggle as a wife to not nag when you don't feel like you're being heard. Not complain when you're frustrated. Not bitch when you're tired. We all do it! But I just wanted this blog to be a reflection of my life and a journal of my journey as a woman, wife, and mother. I feel God is taking me on a journey to become a CONTENT woman. Thankful for His gifts. Thankful for my surroundings. Trusting in His goodness and Word. Some posts will be humorous, serious, reflective, and hopefully some will be helpful. I will try to post about food I've made, projects I'm working on, deals I've found, interesting information I've discovered, things the Lord is teaching me, and of course funny Zeke stories!
Second, I'm a terrible photographer with a sort-of-decent digital camera that I have no idea how to use. So, don't expect beautiful pictures with everything. I absolutely love skimming my favorite websites and just looking at their life through their lens, but sadly I'm not that talented.
Third, grammar ain't my strong suit. Don't hold it against me :)
Well, with all that said, I hope you enjoy listening to me ramble once again!
